Dhampus peak is located northeast of the Dhaulagiri massif. In terms of climbing technicalities it is an easy mountain to ascent. The peak is also known as a Thapa Peak. The overwhelming altitude differences between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges make a very exposed spot to observe the scenery from Dhampus Peak.
Though this peak climbing exceeds the 6000-meter frontier, no technical climbing skills are required. This means any experience in walking on snow / ice is advisable. Breathtaking scenery of Tukuche peak, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Annapurna I,II,III & IV, Tilicho Peak, Nilgiri South and North can be seen from the summit.
